The factory battery on the Talaria X3 is a capable 60V pack built around a price target. This Talaria x3 Battery runs Samsung 40T 21700 cells, the same cell chemistry used in performance EV packs. Capacity holds better across charge cycles, and the cells handle sustained high-discharge pulls without the voltage sag that shows up under hard acceleration on cheaper aftermarket packs.

Why 72V over 60V

The voltage bump does two things. First, your motor runs cooler because it draws fewer amps to deliver the same wattage. Second, you get noticeably sharper throttle response at the low end of the power band, which is where most trail riding happens. Combined with the 50Ah capacity, real-world range lands at 65 to 75 miles on a mixed trail ride. That is roughly double what aggressive riders get from stock on the X3.

The BMS actually tells you something

The 150A ANT Smart BMS is not a passive unit. It connects over Bluetooth to a free app on iOS and Android and reports cell-level voltage, pack temperature, state of health, and total charge cycles in real time. You know when a cell is drifting before it becomes a problem out on the trail. Most budget aftermarket packs run passive BMS units with no visibility at all.

Fits your stock controller out of the box

This is the question every buyer asks: do I need a new controller? No. This battery runs on your stock 60V controller with no tune or wiring swap required. The 72V nominal voltage sits within the operating range of the stock system. If you are already running a 72V/100A aftermarket controller, this pack works with that setup too.

Installation time

Most riders complete the swap in under 30 minutes with basic hand tools. The battery uses the same mounting points as stock. No fabrication, no bracket modifications, no custom wiring. If you are also installing an aftermarket controller at the same time, plan for 60 to 90 minutes total.

Does this battery work with my stock Talaria X3 controller?

Yes. This is one of the key reasons riders choose this pack over competing 72V options. The 72V nominal voltage is within the operating tolerance of the stock X3 controller. Most rival 72V aftermarket packs, including the EWATT 74V and ChiBattery Titan X, require a full controller swap before they will run. This pack does not.

Do I need a new charger?

No, you can use your existing 60V charger. However, a 60V charger will not push the pack to its full 50Ah capacity. For full range and faster charge times, a 72V charger is the right move. Contact us and we can point you toward a compatible option.

How much range will I actually get?

On the X3 platform with mixed trail riding, most riders report 65 to 75 miles per charge. Pure eco-mode commuting will push that closer to 80 to 90 miles. Aggressive enduro-style riding with sustained full-throttle pulls will bring it down to around 50 to 55 miles. Stock X3 owners typically see 35 to 45 miles under similar conditions, so this is roughly double the real-world range.

What is the Samsung 40T 21700 cell and why does it matter?

The Samsung 40T is a high-drain 21700 lithium-ion cell rated at 35A continuous discharge per cell. It is the same cell category used in performance EV applications. This means the pack delivers full power under load without the voltage drop that cheaper cells show during hard acceleration or hill climbs. It also retains a higher percentage of its rated capacity after hundreds of charge cycles compared to standard 18650-based packs.

What does the ANT Smart BMS Bluetooth feature actually show me?

When connected to the free ANT app on iOS or Android, you get a live readout of individual cell voltages, overall pack voltage, discharge current, pack temperature, charge cycle count, and state of health percentage. Cell-level voltage data is the most important part: an imbalanced cell is the most common cause of battery failures, and the BMS flags it before it causes a shutdown on the trail.

How long does installation take?

Under 30 minutes for most riders using basic hand tools. The pack is a direct bolt-on using the stock mounting points. No fabrication required. If you are also installing an aftermarket controller at the same time, plan for 60 to 90 minutes total.

Will this void my Talaria factory warranty?

Installing an aftermarket battery on a bike still under OEM warranty can affect coverage on the battery and powertrain components. If your bike is out of warranty, this is not a concern. The battery itself comes with a 2-year warranty from us covering defects in materials and workmanship.

Does this fit the Talaria XXX Pro as well as the X3?

Yes. The X3 and XXX Pro share the same frame dimensions and battery compartment. This pack is a confirmed bolt-on for both. It is not compatible with the Talaria Sting MX3, MX4, or MX5, which use a different battery form factor and mounting system.

Can I still use my stock 60V charger after installing this?

Technically yes, but it is not the optimal setup. A 60V charger will not charge a 72V pack to full capacity. You will get a partial charge and shorter range until you switch to a 72V charger. For occasional use it is acceptable. For daily riding, a 72V charger is the right call.

How should I store the battery when not riding?

Store the pack at 50 to 60 percent charge in a cool, dry location. Avoid leaving it at 100 percent for extended periods or letting it sit fully depleted. Both conditions accelerate cell degradation over time. The Bluetooth BMS app shows current state of charge so you can store at the right level without guessing.
