How To Use Your Surron ultra bee charger​

Charging an Ultra Bee with this unit is the same process as the factory charger:

1. Park the bike on level ground and turn the bike off.
2. Open the charge port cover on the right side of the battery pack.
3. Plug the charger output cable into the Ultra Bee charge port, it only fits one way.
4. Plug the charger AC cable into a standard 110V wall outlet.
5. The charger LED will turn red while charging and green when the battery reaches 100%.
6. Unplug from the wall first, then disconnect from the bike. Close the port cover.

A full charge from a depleted (20%) battery takes approximately 3 hours. If you charge from a higher state (e.g. 60%), expect proportionally less time. The internal thermal cutoff will pause charging if the unit overheats, this is normal in summer and the charger will resume automatically once it cools down. For maximum battery life, we recommend charging to 80-90% for daily riding and only going to 100% before long rides.

How Long Does A Sur-Ron Take To Charge?

The 2025 Sur-Ron Ultra Bee, paired with this 12A fast charger, charges from 20% to 100% in approximately 3 hours. From 0% to 100% takes closer to 3.5 hours. This is significantly faster than the slower 8A and 10A aftermarket chargers on the market, which can take 4-6 hours for the same full charge. The Light Bee X charges faster (about 2.5 hours) because its battery is smaller. If you own a Light Bee X, you’ll want our Sur-Ron Light Bee X charger instead, the Ultra Bee charger will not fit the LBX charge port.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this an OEM Surron ultra bee charger​ or aftermarket?

This is the OEM-spec North American charger;  same voltage, current, connector, and IP rating as the unit that ships from the factory with new 2023-2025 Ultra Bee models. It is a direct functional equivalent and requires no modifications.

Will this charger work on a Sur-Ron Light Bee X or LBX?

No. The Light Bee X / LBX runs a 60V battery system and uses a 67.2V charger. This 85V Ultra Bee charger is not compatible with the LBX. For the Light Bee X, see our dedicated Sur-Ron Light Bee X charger.

Can I leave my Ultra Bee on the charger overnight?

Yes. The charger automatically cuts power once the battery reaches 100%, and the internal BMS prevents overcharging. That said, for maximum battery life, we recommend unplugging within a few hours of full charge rather than leaving it connected for days.

Is this Sur-Ron fast charger safe to use in the rain?

The charger itself is IP67 rated and can handle splashes and brief immersion. However, the 110V AC connection to your wall outlet is not weatherproof,  never plug into an unprotected outdoor outlet in wet conditions. Use a GFCI-protected outlet under cover.
